Eggspectation, a Montreal, Canadian-based sit-down restaurant chain, plans to open its inaugural location in Baltimore County at Metro Centre at Owings Mills, a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) encircling the Owings Mills Metro Station, on Tuesday, April 5. The restaurant is corporate-owned by Eggspectation Restaurants, LLC and directed by CEO Enzo Renda. The restaurant itself is situated within approximately 5600 square feet of ground-level retail space, at the intersection of Grand Central Avenue and Grand Junction Lane, and is directly off the Interstate 795 Owings Mills exit. Metro Centre at Owings Mills is being developed by Owings Mills Transit, LLC and managed by David S. Brown Enterprises, Ltd.
Eggspectation, which is recognized by its vast offering of breakfast entrées, along with lunch and dinner, joins Times Square Kitchen, Fractured Prune and Subway as the first wave of restaurants to open at Metro Centre at Owings Mills. Under construction across the street is a new four-story, 200,000 square foot Class “A” mixed-use office and retail building, which will be delivered in summer 2016.
Eggspectation operates or franchises twenty-three locations, including six in the Washington-Baltimore-Northern Virginia region, twelve locations in Canada with a focus in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto, as well as in Dubai, Qatar and India. The Metro Centre restaurant was designed as a “flagship” location in the United States to showcase its operations, creative design and management philosophy. It offers an inspiring loft-style interior and industrial appeal, offering a mix of modern style and rustic or reclaimed elements from barnyard wood panels, retro light fixtures, art canvases produced by local artists and painted brick walls.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a diverse menu that emphasizes its breakfast items, but are available throughout all hours of the day. The menu selections include an array of eggs benedict choices such as the Lobster Benny, to a variety of classic dishes comprised of waffles, crepes, pancakes, brioche French toast and simple New-American style dishes. The menu also includes omelets, sandwiches, salads, and 100% beef burgers on artisanal brioche buns categorized as Eggsecutive Burgers. Items such as Portuguese chicken, grilled salmon and steaks frites round out the menu.
Happy hour is served from 4 pm to 7 pm.
Metro Centre at Owings Mills also includes the 120,000 square foot County Campus building, which houses the largest branch of the Baltimore County Public Library and a satellite location of the Community College of Baltimore.
